Where hospitality meets tranquility
A working olive estate in the wild heart of Sierra de Espadán, Spain.
Welcome to
Masia de Matuta, a three-hundred-year-old olive estate, located on 27 hectares, ín national park: Sierra de Espadán.
This is no ordinary location. We consciously choose peace, space, and genuine attention. This is a place where you come to breathe. To listen to the wind in the olive trees.

Completely self-sufficient, 100% off-grid and set within a protected national park, Masia de Matuta offers true seclusion for your group. No distractions, no outside noise. Just your programme and the natural world around you. Accommodation, catering and facilities all on-site.
Origin Story
Sara and Bas didn’t wait for the right moment. They left behind careers in hospitality and finance. Sara from high-end hotels across the globe, Bas from the boardroom as CFO. They packed up their family, and followed a feeling.
For Sara, running her own hospitality business had always been the dream. For both of them, the beaten path was never quite the point. So when they found a 300-year-old olive estate tucked into a valley in the Sierra de Espadán, reachable only by a, partly unpaved, track through the hills, it felt exactly right. Bas traded spreadsheets for sourdough, wine, and the kind of meals that make you linger at the table.
Masia de Matuta is for the curious. The ones who want to hike a trail, taste wine from a local bodega, buy cheese from a cave, and still be back in time for a long, slow dinner as the sun melts behind the mountains. If you come looking for real Spain, unhurried, unpolished, and completely alive, you’ll feel at home here.
