Rafting – Adventure on the Water
In the heart of the Sierra de Espadán, the Mijares River winds its way past steep cliffs and through lush green valleys. Here in Montanejos, you can experience the water up close — helmet on, paddle in hand, and a good dose of adrenaline.
Caves of Sant Josep
Coves de Sant Josep offers its visitors a quiet boat ride along one of the most spectacular navigable underground rivers. It represents the longest-traveled cavity in the province of Castellón and the second in the entire Valencian Community. It is the longest navigable underground river in Europe.
Calm water kayak
The Arenoso Reservoir is a place of great natural beauty. Its calm waters allow you to navigate in recreational kayaks, both single and double, as well as family kayaks. An ideal activity for families with children ages 5 and up.
Salto de la Novia – The Leap of Love
Tucked away between the rocks and the murmur of the river near the Spanish village of Navajas lies a place where the water falls like a veil: Salto de la Novia – the Bride’s Leap.
Ziplining – Flying Between Rocks and River
For those looking to conquer their fear of heights – or simply craving an adrenaline rush – the zipline in Montanejos is an unforgettable experience. Suspended from a cable, you soar over the Mijares River gorge, with sparkling water beneath you and rugged green mountains all around.
Hot Springs – Bathing Between Mountains and Legends
Hidden in a gorge along the Mijares River lies a natural treasure: the hot springs of Montanejos. The water stays around 25°C year-round — rich in minerals, and surrounded by rugged cliffs and lush forests.
Via Verde Ojos Negros – Cycling Along Old Railway Tracks Through Nature and Silence
The Via Verde Ojos Negros is Spain’s longest green cycling route, following old railway tracks as it winds through mountains, forests, and historic viaducts. Trains once carried coal here from the Ojos Negros mines to the coast. Today, it’s a peaceful trail for hikers and cyclists, far from traffic and the rush of everyday life.
The route is especially suitable for families looking to enjoy nature together. For more information, feel free to ask us.
